The Artist Behind the Work
|
Julia Way creates with an intention to connect to Earth through observations of her local ecology. Through outdoor installations, video and watercolor paintings, she translates intimate perceptions of systems and interactions into physical materials.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the Philadelphia area at locations such as the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, the Woodmere Museum of Art, the Francis Cope House at Awbury Arboretum, and the Maguire Museum at St. Joseph's University. In 2018 she was Artist-in-Residence at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts and in 2021 was a resident artist at Arte Studio Ginestrelle in Assisi, Italy. She is a member of Artessa Alliance, a collective of women-identified artists, and a Signature Member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society. |
